Sunday August 13 2023 - Wild goose chaseSomething silly
BruceinSF (SFBruce) posted in his Instagram my wild goose chase (scroll to page 4). This shows my silly personality when I'm not busy doing my tough guy persona while I wrestle or when I get my pictures taken. 🤪

Test

This was on our way to the edge of the Canal Lachine. These wild geese are pretty used to humans biking around, approaching them or looking pretty to get photographed. Still, it's probably best not to imitate me because most of these beautiful wildlife creatures will know full well to aim for your family jewels when threatened. 😂

Saturday February 11 2023 - Poof!Something silly
LumberG (id 250) and I have been using this thing where we say "Poof!" the moment we flex.

It's funny because it actually came from a video from Sebastian Liden. This was before Sebastian took them all down, going from a pay-to-flex or gay-for-pay bodybuilder to a legit personal trainer bodybuilder who only shares video of him training lifting weight. Those who still have videos of him poof-flexing should cherish their precious copies or share them with all of us. 😀

A few years back, LumberG started doing these "Poof!', flexing while pinning me down. Shortly after our match, I curiously sent him a copy of a Sebastian video that I purchased doing exactly the same gesture he did. LumberG admitted that he also purchased that same video as well a while ago. So... we had both bought the same video because we both liked the slight sight of arrogance that Sebastian was exerting. This awkward gesture of flexing and saying "Poof!" along with a bunch of other funny onomatopoeia while he flexes was something that we both enjoy. To add to the hilarity of the video, Sebastien would also mention that his bicep magically grew overnight. 😅

The moral of the story is that we shouldn't think that a particular liking or interest is ours alone. The world is small and you can easily bump into someone who shares the same tastes as yours. Look at this site, I used to think I was the only one in the world who would pique an interest at bearhugs. 😅

Needless to say, LumberG and I still "Poof!" at each other occasionally. 😂

Tuesday June 28 2022 - Beat sabers!Something silly
My best friend made me try this VR (Virtual Reality) game where you have to hit these floating cubes with your light sabers at the rhythm of the music. Rejoice, you now get to see how retarded I look playing this game 🤪

Test

For the record, I was in Buckingham, Quebec. It's actually a small rural village near Ottawa, Ontario.

Wednesday September 8 2021 - How to pick up chicks?Something silly
My wrestling buddy is showing me here how to pick up chicks. No offense to the ladies, but I don't think they'll be any visiting this page. 🤣

Test

In case you're wondering, the yellow bird is a kakariki, the small green one is a parrotlet and the bigger green-yellow-reddish one is a conure. These birds are not mine. I am not disciplined enough to have pets! 😅 Aren't they adorable, though? Can you tell that the kakariki is the most active one? 😘 It's also my favorite... Shhhh.. 🤫 Don't tell anyone!

Wednesday October 14 2020 - Jedi with a dollar store lightsaberSomething silly
So we are approaching Halloween and I was invited to a Pumpkin patch picking event which is one of the very few outside activities that were not barred by the city. I was told to put up a Star Wars related disguise. That works great since I had this Jedi costume that was hanging in my drawers for months on end with no real use.

For the record, the lighsaber is a dollar store type of prop, but hey, it will do just fine. I won't augment this silly costume with a 500$+ handmade lightsaber... yet.

I'm actually a fat jedi here because there is a total of 5 layers and I'm glad I didn't put the cape as the 6th layer. I had a brown t-shirt (1st layer), plus a thick layer coat (2nd layer) you don't see because it's hidden by another brown t-shirt as the 3rd layer. This is followed by the white shirt for the jedi (4th layer) and the brown coat (5th layer). The weather network reported 7 degrees celsius (44°F) for the day, but I ended up sweating anyway.

I sent this photo to a friend who suggested that we should LARP next time we meet. I had to Google the acronym and realized that it meant "Live Action Role Playing". In normal times I wouldn't mind, but this costume is way too warm.

Monday August 10 2020 - The things you do behind closed doors...Something silly
I unearthed this video I did for a friend. I think it dates by a couple of months at least.

Test

The reality is that this video might scare some wrestlers away.

But honestly, I was really just shooting this for fun. No... I don't talk to my teddies when I'm alone.... nor do I use them as punching bags!

This panda bear is a gift from a great friend of mine.

Tuesday April 14 2020 - Virtual video backgrounds...Something silly
I was using the usual Zoom Meetings for work and then started abusing the Virtual Video Background feature. I felt I should share this with you guys.

Test

Yeah.. This is very geeky, but a little bit of Star Wars fun doesn't hurt.

All that is missing is an X-Wing pilot helmet, but they are about 100 bucks on eBay, so uh... I think I'll pass.

No... my voice does not usually sound like Peewee, it's just that I raised the pitch because I was just being plain silly.

Friday February 21 2020 - Blooper: Vicious hit!Something silly
It's been an eternity I haven't posted a blooper.

It's actually a 2 for the price of 1 video: on the fifth second (00:05), Vicious (id 5128) accidentally steps on my hand and on the thirtieth second (00:30), I was just not prepared... We were improvising and I really had no idea what he was going to do.

Vicious Hit!

This is when you can really tell the difference when I'm just trying to act or when it really hurts... You can shield yourself from some stuff, and then there is this other stuff that you can't do anything at all!

A bit of context though: this was meant for a screenshot capture of various segments instead of releasing a video, but I felt it would be a sad thing if I didn't share it and add in a few sound effects...

Hey, wrestling with friends is all about having fun, right? I try not to take things too seriously.

Saturday October 26 2019 - Bouncing bearhugAnimations
Most of my animations end up being something silly, but I have used GIF animations several times in the past to loop a submission hold: such as repeating a bearhug endlessly or racking someone over and over. After reviewing the bearhug I recorded with Vicious (id 5128) the other day, I've decided to create a loop with it.

I know this looks like something different, but to each their own imagination, right? I like how Vicious pretends to be struggling...

Thursday October 24 2019 - An excited panda!Something silly
This will probably be the silliest thing I've posted in a very long while. A friend of mine gave this panda bear plush on my birthday last June and I've decided to do a few animations with it. So... I'm gonna hurt your eyes a bit with this

I realized that I probably should do the same thing with "Beau", the one that Fun4Us (id 8822) gave me in June of last year. I guess I'll save that for another day. That's enough excitement for today.

Wednesday May 29 2019 - Holding it in...Something silly
Yeah, I'm guilty (like many others): I often hold my belly in when I take pictures. I did a quick experiment and purposely put my belly out and then I took a deep breath and held it in.... It does make quite a difference.

No wonder I often do it.

Monday January 14 2019 - Knight Winter CapSomething silly
Yeah I've been goofing around a lot lately. And today, we get a silly GIF animation.

Look! Is it a construction helmet? A wizard's pointy hat? No, it's a knight in shining armor!

To show the geekiness in me, I personally ordered on Etsy this knitted Knight Winter Cap to brave through our -25°C (-13°F) terribly chilly cold days (and colder nights!). I've always wanted one of these.

Between getting sick or looking silly, I'll take the latter. The fabric and the way its put together doesn't necessarily shield completely the wind from my face, but it still has somewhat an okay usefulness and it will still keep me warmer than usual.

The silly and wonderful things you can get on Etsy.

Friday January 11 2019 - Blooper: Failed tramplingSomething silly
EvilDark (id 1077) has this fetish of being trampled, which I am happy to oblige since I'm light and it's a fantasy that can easily be fulfilled.

Usually, we do this in an area where the ceiling is low or I have something to grab on to... it's not easy to keep balance on someone's back. Well, this time, I didn't have any support of any kind, so guess what happened?

Test

Yeah, I purposely added the cartoony sound and music.

Sometimes, we have to laugh at ourselves a bit. If it can put a smile on someone else's face, then it's all worth it.

Saturday April 14 2018 - After a week of downtime, I need some cuddling...Something silly
While I stressed out myself to work until 3 am this week with the tech support team to solve my website issues, I've decided to browse a bit and let the tensions go down. In an old dusty folder hidden deeply at the back of my hard drive, I uncovered these images that I've taken in 2015 with the teddy bear from KidTangler (id 973).

Either I'm flexing for my teddy, or I'm about to punch him. Which one is it?

This teddy probably got scared, so a little hug should calm him down... Why would I even think of causing harm to such a cute fat thing?

To bury the axe of war, we trade a little piece of kiss... or is it a kiss of peace?

For the record, this teddy's name is actually Boxeur. It's french for boxer. That is because when I go home, I sometimes give this teddy a punch in the stomach... It's actually really fun. It sounds mean, but this thing has so much pillow that it absorbs any punches really well. Instead of spinning a fidget spinner, I punch this teddy.

You guys are probably thinking that my gears are not working correctly doing these kind of pictures and giving names to plush toys. Sometimes, you need to take life lightly, especially when everybody around is taking everything so seriously and working hard as ever. You need to have a little distraction here and then to help you keep going on.

The same when people go see movies, they turn their brains off, lower their IQ to 0 and watch in awe all the superhero movies that are thrown to us nowadays.

Monday December 11 2017 - Just Dance!Something silly
This is a good way for me to let it all out... or to get some good cardio and make sure those legs stay good and healthy so I can squeeze the s*** out of my opponents. For the records, when this is recorded by the XBox entertainment system, it purposely increases the speed by two times fold to make you look like an idiot. You also can technically play the Benny Hill theme song on all videos generated by the Just Dance game to make it even sillier. But why be concerned about it? The goal is to have fun and to catch some good old exercise on the way while playing.

Test

Hey, I could get myself a membership at the gym instead and procrastinate about running endlessly on a boring treadmill or I can have a bit more fun while doing it at home with my XBox. On top of it, because you're dancing and the moves aren't always the same movements (different songs offer different choreographies and dance moves), you're really stretching and working out all those muscles on the body rather than focusing on the specific ones a machine would make you work on.

If you're wondering what I'm holding, it's actually the base of a toy lightsaber. The plastic tube that represents the sword was removed because I didn't want to accidentally hit myself with it... plus it's also pretty heavy. The song being played in this clip is Groove from JD2017. You'd think this is easy stuff, but songs usually last 3 minutes so imagine following a choreography for 3 consecutive minutes and you'll see how much of a wear down that gives you. I try to do this an average of 60-90 minutes whenever I start a session.

By the way, if you are a good researcher, you might be able to dig up the channel hosting most of the videos I've posted from my personal profile on the JDTV Community. You'll see a couple of friends of mine having fun as well. Good luck though, in mid 2017, Ubisoft disabled the JDTV network and its functionalities for most countries, but Google is your friend and nothing is impossible to find nowadays if you know how to dig.

Sunday September 3 2017 - Attack of the C-CubSomething silly
I was doing a little cleanup on my laptop and I bumped into this animation that I created 5 years ago. Yeah, that's 2012.

It's a very very silly file, but I was just having fun and I was also learning the mechanics of GIF animation that is currently in use in some of my matches. Yeah, 2 birds with 1 stone. It's not very difficult with the online tools that are made available to us nowadays, so I get to make better ones like this hadoken animation that will be used in one of the sequel scenarios. GIF animation and Photoshop allows me to distort reality and create dazzling overzealous science-fiction nonsense and campy storylines.

I've given this cub (or teddy bear) the un-original name of C-Cub (id 800). It kinda played somewhat a very minor role in my previous relationship with Be-Bear (id 2910). He always pushed it away because it was too rugged compared to the rest of the collection.

Yes, this C-Cub (id 800) also has a profile, but I only use it to test new code that I add onto the site. In other words, it's a guinea pig.

Sunday April 16 2017 - SelfiesSomething silly
Today is my last day of daily blogging... after that, I'll go back to my usual pace of either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly... or whenever I have a match. Having 3 matches last week, I've decided to take a little bit of rest this long Easter week-end.

When I have to go through my archives to look for superficial selfies, it's because I really ran out of things to post.

I am very fond of dogs, but I unfortunately don't own one. I'm too irresponsible for that. Pets require attention and daily care and I'm bad at that, really. But whenever I approach a dog or a cat, my IQ suddenly drops to near 0 and I start doing those "Ooooooh! Here kitty kitty kitty kitty kitty kitty! Come here you cute little doggie..." The dog below is a cute female husky that belongs to my older sister.

For the particular pic above, someone told me that it looks like the dog is eating something else...

I don't know how my sis does it, but this dog sheds so much fur. Your t-shirt and pants would literally be white if you dared approaching or touching this dog.

The pictures were taken with my Nintendo DSi in 2011. You could edit the picture with the device to add silly icons and all sort of things to make you look funny or ridiculous. I used to play Pokemon with this device. I played it night and day, wasting several months of my life, until I suddenly lost my DSi somewhere... After that, I felt so freed! I've told myself I would never play Pokemon again because I am so horrible that I can't control my addiction for silly video games. I still had a nice time with it, though.

Wednesday April 12 2017 - Teddy bearsSomething silly
So I ordered a pink teddy bear to be shipped at work. Why work? Well, whenever they ship it at home, I have to go pick it up at the post office because I'm not home to receive it, whereas at work, the receptionist is always there to receive the parcel. Why go through the trouble?

Colleague 1: What's that?
Me: Oh it's a care bear.
Colleague 1: Why did you get yourself a care bear?
Me: It's not for me, it's for my step niece.
Colleague 2: Yeah, yeah, we all know it's for you.
Me: Yeah, sure. I sleep with teddy bears *sarcasm*

Honestly, I do. They keep me young, happy and silly. I have fun with them and my roommate. We tease each other a lot about it. Sometimes, I like to put his favorite one sitting on top of the door of his bedroom. Each time he walks in, it falls *splat* on his face.

I have updated the pic here because there is a new member in the family.

Truth be told, four of these belong to me and the rest belongs to my "ex" or my roommate (Be-Bear (id 2910)). On top of that, of the four, three sits on my library and one sleeps on top of my chest for warmth. I also like a bit of weight on me...

And honestly, the pink one is not mine!!! lol

Yes, that's a very geeky t-shirt and you'll only really know the real significance of it if you played Contra on the NES.

Sunday March 12 2017 - Fun with PhotoshopSomething silly
I was talking about this difference stance some time last week. Turns out that I had a little bit of time on my hands today after a match cancellation, so I've decided to play a bit with Photoshop. Yeah, just for the fun of it, but also to explore for future uses. It's killing two stones with one bird.

For the shot below, I simply added two blue flares on each hand and a connecting curving bolt that took me ages to find on the net.

Throwing fire/ice/bolt balls or Hadokens is also very fun. I've always wanted to throw one of those. ...And yes, I do realize that the fireball actually comes from a basketball sport logo, but it's still one of the best fireballs I can find. The bolt one is from a special effect search on Google and the "ice" one is from Street Fighter Alpha 3. I realized afterwards that I should have doubled the size of the ice ball on that last one, because it makes it look like a very worthless spell...

All of this is very amateurish, but it's really just to experiment and to have fun while I'm learning.

It's not uncommon that I add a little bit of silly effects in my match. I usually stick with lens flares, Onomatopoeia (in the style of the old TV batman show in the 1960s) or the traditional balloons to denote a thought or a character talking. I think the first time I really made full use of special powers and lens flares was for my matches with Dr. Monarch. Back at the time, Dr. Monarch asked me to add even more flares and increase their intensity. The following year, I used the same pattern with my match with Bane. For a full use of Onomatopoeias, there's the one that Phil and I coordinated. For balloons and energy gauges, there's the 3rd chapter with WolfJobber.

This obviously does not cater to everyone's taste because it just reduces the seriousness of the match, but most of you know that I just make fun out of my matches anyway, with a very campy and exaggerated style. Most of my matches will however stay within the realms of somewhat... accepted reality in a jobber vs heel match. These effects allows me to occasionally throw in something different. Hey, some people like to post picture of selfies, the places they travel and the food they eat on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram. On my side, I like to post wrestling pictures on my own site, with sporadic random alterations and special effects. To each their own.
